The Florida Room presents Stephen Marley: Acoustic & Unplugged

Y'all know I loooooooove the reggae! Bob Marley's Legend album changed my LIFE!

Of all the Marleys, I probably know the least about Stephen. Although I'm planning on attending the upcoming 16th Annual Caribbean Festival (bka: Marley fest! - check back for the rundown!) I wanted to take the opportunity to see this performance in a smaller venue. Well worth it.

Of course, it took them EXTRA long to set up and actually come out and peformed (Wednesday night folks!!), but I thoroughly enjoyed the peformance...more than I thought I would. I enjoyed the opportunity to hear Stephen by himself, but Damien and Ky-mani both made appearances, and as you can see from the video above, they also contributed a little to "Could You Be Loved". Sizzla and Spragga Benz were in the building too.

It amazed me how they turned the overly poshed out Florida Room into something that favored a spot somewhere in Kingston...ganga filled air included!

Giant Step's 1st Anniversary At The Florida Room With De La Soul and Brendan O'Hara & The Big Bounce

Definitely a great way to get my New Year's Resolution poppin' off right!

Check the pics & flicks.

"Meany, meany, meany, meany (say what!?)" The last time I saw De La Soul was at the House of Blues in Chicago. Since I've been living in Miami, they came to the Rock the Bells concert twice, and I missed them BOTH times! lol. They always have great energy during their shows, so the Florida Room was a perfect venue!

We were late, and missed Brendan O'Hara and The Big Bounce, but were super close to see De La. They performed: "Buddy", "Saturday", "Stakes is High", "Oooh", "Ring, Ring Ring", "Me Myself, & I", "Potholes in my Lawn"....I feel like they did a few more, I just can't remember!

It was a great performance! Ruth and Zaviear enjoyed too, as you see in the last picture!, and by Ruth's arm waving around in the video!
