Giant Step's 1st Anniversary At The Florida Room With De La Soul and Brendan O'Hara & The Big Bounce

Definitely a great way to get my New Year's Resolution poppin' off right!

"Meany, meany, meany, meany (say what!?)" The last time I saw De La Soul was at the House of Blues in Chicago. Since I've been living in Miami, they came to the Rock the Bells concert twice, and I missed them BOTH times! lol. They always have great energy during their shows, so the Florida Room was a perfect venue!

We were late, and missed Brendan O'Hara and The Big Bounce, but were super close to see De La. They performed: "Buddy", "Saturday", "Stakes is High", "Oooh", "Ring, Ring Ring", "Me Myself, & I", "Potholes in my Lawn"....I feel like they did a few more, I just can't remember!

It was a great performance! Ruth and Zaviear enjoyed too, as you see in the last picture!, and by Ruth's arm waving around in the video!

Musik Is My Hometown

Welcome Fam!

My Mom took me to my very first concert...October 1988 (was that really 20 years ago?!!?), Micheal Jackson's Bad World Tour. We were somewhere within the first 10 rows, and it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen...I'll never forget it, and since then, I've always loved the experience of a live concert.

2008 was a rough year for me (no sob stories tho!), so for 2009, I resolved to do more things that make me happy. Some of you reading this know that I LOVE music. All kinds. So I plan on fufilling my resolution by actually enjoying more live music, because among many other things...it just makes me happy!

Ummmmm...so what's the blog for?!?!?

Well, I’ve never had a real purpose for having a blog, but I really want to share this with you, if for nothing else, I think it'll be fun! But I also want you to experience the music as well! I thought this would be a fun way to do that...especially since I'm not about to post all this on facebook! :)

The title of the blog is a line in the song Music is my Hot Hot Sex, by CSS. Look it up on iTunes…it’s a great song! It’s very à propos!

I’m only using this blog to post the videos and pictures from concerts, showcases, impromptu and/or unexpected performances that I ACTUALLY attend and witness. I won’t be posting any YouTubed music videos, or Getty Images pictures from events I didn’t go to...that completely defeats the purpose!
